
Colin MacDonald is a trusted executive and governance advisor, specializing in issue and reputation management, public affairs strategy and crisis response. Based in Toronto, Colin’s work nationally is in support of clients across a wide variety of sectors as they confront enterprise threats or seek to shape public opinion and drive public policy outcomes.
In addition to his work advising boards of directors, Colin serves as Chair of the board of Stella’s Place, a community-based, young adult mental health organization, and as a Director of Freestyle Ontario, the provincial sports organization for freestyle skiing.
Colin previously worked politically, serving in policy advisory roles to several Ontario cabinet ministers across a variety of ministries. During his time in portfolios as diverse as Natural Resources, Labour, Citizenship & Immigration and Finance Colin developed a broad-based understanding of government decision-making processes and the political imperatives that guide these decisions. Colin has held leadership positions in leadership campaigns and local elections.
A frequent media commentator on Canadian and American politics, Colin has a master’s degree in political science from the University of Western Ontario and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph.
