Jan De Silva is a global executive, corporate director and advisor with extensive leadership experience across Canada and Asia. Her current work spans corporate governance, AI and digital infrastructure, international investment and Asia-Pacific business.
She is Canada Co-Chair of the Canada-ASEAN Business Council and Incoming Board Chair of Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, assuming the Chair role on September 24, 2026. Jan also serves on the Board of the Building Ontario Fund and represents Canada on the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), where she chairs the AI & Digital Innovation Working Group.
Jan advises on major international investment initiatives, including digital infrastructure and data centres, and supports initiatives bringing investment, technology and strategic partnerships into Canada, as well as regional initiatives and Canadian business opportunities across Asia.
Previously, Jan was President & CEO of the Toronto Region Board of Trade for more than eight years. Earlier, she spent 14 years in Asia, including as CEO of Sun Life’s businesses in Hong Kong and Mainland China, Dean of Ivey Asia, and founder and CEO of a China-based consumer business.
Her corporate governance experience includes 12 years as a Non-Executive Director of Intact Financial Corporation, including service on its Audit and Risk Management Committees.
