Prashant Shukle is a geospatial intelligence and public-sector technology executive with more than three decades of leadership at the intersection of federal government, international standards, and commercial innovation. He serves as a Senior Space Advisor at Samuel Associates, which provides strategic advisory and government relations services to Canadian, United States and international clients. And, he is also President and Owner of the Global Geospatial Group, Inc. an Ottawa-based commercialization and capital advisory firm operating globally.
He previously served as Director-General of Canada’s national mapping agency, where he held national responsibility for Earth observation, satellite systems, and geospatial programs—delivering the RADARSAT Constellation Mission and leading Canada’s largest-ever open data release, while reducing the agency’s operating costs and modernizing all aspects of its operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Shukle held Chief of Staff and senior federal political advisory roles, giving him direct experience translating policy ambition into government machinery and funded action. That execution focus defines his work today: through GGG, he builds funding and partnership pathways across federal and provincial instruments—spanning defence, innovation, and regional development programs—for technology ventures in space, geospatial, and dual-use sectors. Mr. Shukle has also represented Canada internationally at the United Nations Global Group of Information Management; funded international technology and data initiatives, and led geospatial and earth observation missions to India and other European countries.
Mr. Shukle’s work at the Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation was situated at the convergence of Arctic sovereignty, Indigenous partnerships, and developing advanced satellite-based infrastructure—a combination he considers central to Canada’s capacity to act strategically in a contested world.
Mr. Shukle currently serves on various not-for-profit Boards that vary in their respective global to local mandates.
